Supporting Small Business - Lotion Bar Cafe

Supporting Small Business - Lotion Bar Cafe

I have lots of friends who own and operate their own small business and I love to support them. One of my friends, Holly Port, owns Lotion Bar Cafe in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Holly is currently working on a 100 Day Facebook Live Challenge where she has to go on Facebook with a video of herself for 100 days! So, to support my friend, I have been trying to watch as many as I can. Along the way, Holly is having contests to thank us for supporting her challenge. Well, on day 50, guess who won a special prize... ME! So I thought it would be fun to do a blog post showing you what I won.

Today when I arrived home there was a package at my door and it was from Holly! I've been waiting patiently for this box to arrive. But Holly had an extra special prize in there for me, so it was worth the wait!

I loved the little note that was at the top of the package and I'm totally going to steal that idea for when I send out packages. I usually enclose a handwritten note when I mail package of soap, but I like the reminder that buy purchasing from Holly (or me), you are supporting a small business.

Everything was neatly packaged and everything arrived unbroken... that's important... keep reading!

One of the items I won from the day 50 drawing was a "Good For You Goody Bag" which included a bath bomb, lip balm, and a soap sample. I've been wanting to see one of Holly's soap sample sizes. She showed us on a Facebook Live how she cuts the sample size soaps and I was curious how thick they were. Now... I know!

I also won a container of cinnamon candies from the Colorado Candy Company. This is another small business that Holly supports by offering their candies in Lotion Bar Cafe. They are delicious!

The best surprise of all was my mug!!! Another small business that Holly supports is Creatively Sassy Designs, also in Colorado Springs. Michelle did an awesome job designing the mug for Holly. I love the glittery silver lettering. There is a backstory on the sayings on this mug! First, Holly calls me Ms. Georgia, because the first time she tried to say my name on a Facebook Live, she couldn't remember how to pronounce it and she just called me Ms. Georgia... You know... because I live in Georgia! It was kinda funny to see the panic on her face when she realized she forgot how to say my name. LOL! We had just recently met at the Tennessee Soap and Candle Meeting and my name is different. Lots of people mispronounce my name!

Let me back the story up a little bit more. Holly is known as the bath bomb queen and she even wrote the book, "Make It Fizz: A Guide to Making Bathtub Treats." I own this book and use a couple of her recipes for some of the bath products I make for Crescent Mountain Soap. So, when I met her at the Tennessee meeting, I was a little starstruck. Our mutual friend Marj asked me if I could drive Holly and a friend back to the hotel we were staying at. OF COURSE I can! But first we had to make a stop at Krispy Kreme. There are no Krispy Kreme locations close to where Holly lives in Colorado and who doesn't love Krispy Kreme?!? It was there that I admitted to Holly that she was my "girl crush." After all, she was famous and the author of a book that I own and use! So, it was at that point that I became the stalker... I didn't gain #1 status until I started participating in Holly's Facebook Live videos. Now it's a joke... I think! LOL!
