Have you noticed that many of the photographs I've used recently for Crescent Mountain Soap look more professional?   That's because I had my products photographed professionally by Kim Martin of Kimmers Photography! She did a fabulous job! She listened to my needs and went beyond what I was expecting! Kim does other types of photography including portraits, family sessions, senior photos, weddings, event photos (she takes photographs for the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club) and some of her photographs have been featured in magazines.   I am a member of the Ladies Homestead Gathering. What? You've never heard of this group? The goal of this group is to empower women through homesteading. You don't have to have a huge farm to belong, just a desire to learn. The motto of the Ladies Homestead Gathering is to: Share knowledge, Build community, and Grow Friendships. Have you ever done something and thought to yourself, "This seems familiar." That's exactly how I felt recently at the Helen Arts and Heritage Center's  Christmas in July event!  Last year I participated and posted a picture of a downpour that got most of the items in my tent wet. Fast forward to this year, and the same thing happened! Only this time I was a little more prepared with the sides of my tent and products did not get wet! I sure did get lots of practice putting the sides of the tent down and rolling them back up!...

I wrote the following blog post awhile ago, and never published it. I wanted to still share this with you because it was an awesome trip and I really did enjoy my time at the Tennessee Soap and Candle Meeting. But guess what... Next year there will not be a Tennessee Soap an Candle Meeting! But no need to be upset because they have rebranded and are now called the Southeastern Bath and Body Conference and will be held April 4 and 5, 2020, in Alpharetta, GA! Have you ever wanted to attend a folk school? I have! I love to learn new things. But I've never attended a folk school as a participant, only as an instructor. Once again Camp Mikell offered its spring Folk School and I was asked to teach soap making again.
